The actress has come a long way from being the child artist of films like Koi Mil Gaya, Hawa and Jago, and the young one in the popular television serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
She is no stranger to south as she has done four Telugu films (Desamudru, Kantri, Maska and Billa) and a Kannada film (Bindaas).
"I'm delighted to do a Tamil film with Dhanush. Recently, I saw two of his films on DVD and I thoroughly enjoyed them, though I did not understand the language," said Hansika.
