Surya’s ‘Raththa Charitram’ Tamil version creates record!

RGV’s forthcoming flick ‘Raththa Charitram’ which is being simultaneously made in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil is creating many waves even before its release. A few days back it is said that the distribution and the satellite rights of the Telugu version have been acquired by C Kalyan, President of South Indian Film Chamber for a huge amount of 12crores. Now the latest news is that the overseas rights of the Tamil version has been sold for a record price of Rs 4.5 crore (over US $1 million). It is the highest-ever overseas price paid for a Surya film. With this record price, Surya has also joined the elite ‘Million dollar club of Tamil superstars’ that already includes Rajinikanth ($2.5 million), Kamal Haasan ($1.5 million) and Vijay ($ 1 million).


The movie is about the real life story of Paritala Ravi which shows Vivek Oberoi as Paritala Ravi, Radhika Apte as Paritala Sunitha, Surya as Maddelacheruvu Suri and Priyamani as his wife. Shatrughan Sinha will be seen in an important role.
